Katie - a real swell gal

There are a handful of people from Discovery that I have made very closed bonds with and Katie is one of those people.  Though she has been gone about two years now, I still talk about her like she and I were working on projects just last week.

This gorgeous gal is starting a new venture and of course that warrants some professional head shots for her website.  Katie is a writer and currently contributes to TLC.com's Parentables blog where investigates the challenges of motherhood.  P.S.s She's hilarious and really has a way with words.

Robert the Fish

Greydon won a fish at the Damascus Fair this past week.  We were thrilled to have a little pet in the house that doesn't make Fletcher sneeze.  Greydon named him Robert, his own middle name, and we got a tank, plant, food, rocks and tried our best to create a nice little home within our home.

Upon arriving home today, I checked on the little guy and found him belly up.  Robert died sometime during the day, and I feel awful because just this morning he was swimming around, eating food, seeming like everything was a-ok.

Here are some pictures from Sunday when Robert was still part of the family.

RIP Robert.  You will always be Greydon's first pet even if it was only for four days.

50 years and counting

My colleague from Discovery asked if I would like to photograph a 50th wedding anniversary party.  I had no idea that I'd wind up feeling like part of the family.

Anthony and Gina were married in 1962 and in honor of their 50th anniversary invited family and friends to their vow renewal and reception.  The last of many summer storms made its way over Alexandria, VA just prior to the celebration, but it stopped no one from joining.

What an honor to be a part of this event.  I can only hope that Fletcher and I live to see 2056 to have our own celebration.
